The teacher highlighted several issues in the education system, including the lack of support for teachers and the failure to address discipline in our schools. As someone who cares about education, I think it's crucial that we take these issues seriously and work to address them.

Teachers are the backbone of our education system, yet they often receive little support and recognition for the important work they do. We need to make sure that teachers are given the resources and support they need to do their jobs effectively. We have lost 306 staff members between August of 2022 and January of 2023. We must fix this.

As a candidate for the Grand Prairie ISD School Board District 6, I am dedicated to promoting parent involvement and open communication between the school board and the community.

I strongly believe that parents should be encouraged to participate in school events and activities and that schools should work to create a welcoming and inclusive environment for all families. By fostering strong relationships between parents, teachers, and administrators, we can create a culture of mutual respect and trust that will benefit everyone involved.

Furthermore, I believe that it is essential for the school board to be transparent and accessible to the community and to actively seek input from parents, teachers, and other stakeholders. By working together in this way, we can create a school system that is responsive to the needs of the community and that provides the best possible education for our children.

I know that I cannot achieve these goals alone, and I am asking for your support. One way you can help me is by sharing my messages with your friends, family, and neighbors. Congratulations to the Warriors on becoming the 2023 District 8-6A Champions. Their hard work and determination paid off, and they deserve all the recognition and praise that comes with such a victory.

It's always a special moment when a team can call themselves champions, but this year's win is particularly noteworthy. It marks the first district title in the varsity head coaching career of Coach Carreño. Leading a team to such a significant accomplishment in his first year is truly impressive and a testament to his leadership skills and coaching ability.

The road to the district championship was not easy, and the Warriors faced some tough opponents along the way. But they never wavered in their commitment to their goal, and their teamwork and perseverance paid off in the end. They have set a great example for future teams to follow and have shown that hard work and dedication can lead to success.

We must also recognize the incredible support of the South Grand Prairie community, including the families, friends, and fans who cheered on the team every step of the way. Your unwavering support and encouragement undoubtedly played a role in this victory, and the Warriors are lucky to have such a passionate fanbase.

As Grand Prairie Independent School District (GPISD) continues to grow, it faces the challenge of attracting and retaining high-quality teachers. Like many districts across the country, GPISD has experienced shortages of qualified teachers in certain subject areas, and a high turnover rate among educators. This can have a negative impact on student performance and teacher morale, and ultimately the success of the district as a whole.

Attracting and retaining high-quality teachers requires a multifaceted approach. One key element is offering competitive salaries and benefits packages to attract and retain top talent. Additionally, the district must provide ongoing professional development opportunities for teachers to help them grow and improve their practice. This can include mentorship programs and teacher-led professional learning communities.

It is the responsibility of the district to ensure that our teachers have the resources, tools and support they need to serve their students from the outset.

Teachers have enough to worry about without having to constantly fundraise or ask for donations. They must prepare lesson plans, grade assignments, manage behavior, and provide support to their students both in and out of the classroom. When teachers are forced to spend their time and energy on fundraising, it takes away from their ability to focus on the core mission of education.

Moreover, fundraising places an undue burden on our teachers, many of whom are already struggling to make ends meet. As a result, we risk losing talented and dedicated educators who simply cannot afford to continue working in our schools.

To address this issue, the district must take a proactive approach to providing resources and support to our teachers. This includes providing adequate funding for classroom supplies, technology, and other resources that are essential to effective teaching. It also means supporting our teachers with ongoing professional development opportunities, mentorship programs, and other forms of support that can help them succeed in their roles.

At the end of the day, our teachers are the backbone of our education system, and we must do everything we can to support them in their important work. By prioritizing the needs of our teachers and ensuring that they have the resources and support they need, we can create a better future for our students and our community.
